چکیده

Fano resonances in plasmonic nanostructures, generated by the spectral interference between a broad resonance or continuum and narrow resonance, have attracted significant interest recent literature. Herein, introducing nanodisc next to nanoring via electron beam lithography, set of for such ring-disc-pair (RDP) hybrid is confirmed through coupling dipolar disc mode different multipolar bonding ring modes. Furthermore, influence RDP's geometric dimensions on dark-field scattering spectra experimentally studied, indicating that contrast ratio can be improved optimizing ring/disc sizes narrowing gap accordance with previous studies. The size also control locations these peaks ranging from visible near-infrared regime. In addition, comparing among series ring/split-ring/rod structures varying curvatures coupled neighboring simulations, it demonstrated RDP presents stronger sensitivity same distance shows high-quality compared more common disc-inside-ring cavities

Mechanisms of Fano resonances in coupled plasmonic systems.

Fano resonances in hybridized systems formed from the interaction of bright modes only are reported. Despite precedent works, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally that Fano resonances can be obtained by destructive interference between two bright dipolar modes out of phase. A simple oscillator model is provided to predict and fit the far-field scattering. The predictions are verified...

Augmenting second harmonic generation using Fano resonances in plasmonic systems.

Significant augmentation of second harmonic generation using Fano resonances in plasmonic heptamers made of silver is theoretically and experimentally demonstrated. The geometry is engineered to simultaneously produce a Fano resonance at the fundamental wavelength, resulting in a strong localization of the fundamental field close to the system, and a higher order scattering peak at the second h...

Seeing protein monolayers with naked eye through plasmonic Fano resonances.

We introduce an ultrasensitive label-free detection technique based on asymmetric Fano resonances in plasmonic nanoholes with far reaching implications for point-of-care diagnostics. By exploiting extraordinary light transmission phenomena through high-quality factor (Q(solution) ∼ 200) subradiant dark modes, we experimentally demonstrate record high figures of merits (FOMs as high as 162) for ...

Plasmonic interactions: from molecular plasmonics and Fano resonances to ferroplasmons.

Plasmon interactions are a subject of great interest from both the technological as well as the fundamental points of view. In this Perspective, we outline the great variety of physical phenomena that are produced by the interactions of localized surface plasmon resonance with molecular excitons; with other plasmonic nanostructures, particularly the Fano effect; and with nonplasmonic nanopartic...

Fano resonances in nanoscale sctructures

Nowadays nanotechnology allows to scale-down various important devices (sensors, chips, fibres, etc), and, thus, opens up new horizon for their applications. Nevertheless, the efficiency most of them is still based on the fundamental physical phenomena, such as resonances. Thus, the understanding of the resonance phenomena will be beneficial. One of the well-known examples is the resonant enhan...
